Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, 5 days per week
• Weekend and holiday shifts required
• Responsibilities include OR suite preparation, patient transport, patient positioning, surgical team support, and PACU handoff

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required

Additional Information

• Prepare OR suite with necessary supplies, equipment, and medications for each patient
• Perform patient identification, timeouts, and safety checks throughout the surgical process
• Position and prep patients for procedures using appropriate aides and guidelines
• Support the surgical team during procedures, including managing supplies, specimens, and medications
• Transport patients to PACU or designated units and provide handoff report to receiving RN
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation throughout patient care
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not eligible
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Previous Carle Health contingent workers must have completed a 6-month break in service if prior assignment exceeded 1 year
