Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 8-hour days, with weekend, holiday, and on-call requirements.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid nursing foundation and a commitment to patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Administer nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Assess patient's needs, including clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual aspects.
• Recognize and address safety issues for patients and staff.
• Utilize equipment and lifts safely to move patients as needed.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior nursing staff as necessary.
• May assume duties as a charge nurse when required.
• Perform lethal dysrhythmia interpretation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current New York State (NYS) RN license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience in an OR setting with preceptorship, charge, or leadership roles preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to function well in stressful situations.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
