Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Shock Trauma Operating Room position requiring an active RN MD or compact license and a minimum of 2 years circulating and scrub experience.

Details

• Shock Trauma Operating Room setting with 9 rooms
• Rotating day shifts (2x8 and 2x12), 40 hours per week, 07:00-15:30 or 07:00-19:30
• Weekend coverage required a minimum of one weekend per month
• On-call coverage required for 36 hours pre-scheduled per 6-week cycle
• Floating required within specialty and peri-operative areas, including pre-op/PACU as needed
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
• BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required, including both circulating and scrub experience
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• 1:1 patient ratio experience
• First-time travelers considered with strong relevant experience

Additional Information

• Provide circulating and scrub support across a wide range of surgical specialties including trauma, orthopedic, neuro, general, thoracic, vascular, and plastics cases
• Work in a high-acuity trauma surgical environment handling complex and emergent cases
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced local traveler rate
• Travelers must float within scope as needed with priority given to travel staff
• Standard RTO policy applies with maximum 7 days per request
