Description

American Traveler is hiring an Operating Room RN for a Level II Trauma center requiring 2-3 years of general OR and DaVinci robotics experience with scrub/circulate skills.

Details

• Operating Room unit at a Level II Trauma center
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• 1:1 patient ratio
• General OR cases including trauma, uro, podiatry, ortho, plastics, neuro, gyn, endo, ENT, thoracic, vascular, cardio, and bariatric procedures
• DaVinci robotics experience required
• Epic EMR required
• Day shift, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday (06:45-15:15)
• Weekend rotation required, inclusive of on-call shifts
• On-call required approximately 5-6 times per 4-week period, including one weekend call
• Weekday/weeknight on-call runs from end of shift until 6:30 am the next morning
• Weekend on-call is a 24-hour shift requiring arrival within 30 minutes of being called in
• Floating required within specialty and to a sister campus as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD state or Compact) required
• BLS required (AHA only); ACLS preferred (AHA only)
• 2-3 years of OR nursing experience required, with 2 years considered for candidates with strong experience
• Strong general OR and robotics experience required
• Skilled in both scrubbing and circulating required
• Epic charting experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• CNOR and NIHSS certifications preferred

Additional Information

• Perform scrub and circulating duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including gynecology, plastics, neurology, orthopedics, cardiovascular, general surgery, vascular, endoscopic, urology, ENT, and bariatric procedures
• Experience with robotic surgical systems including Da Vinci and Da Vinci SP required
• Utilizes specialized equipment such as cell savers, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana tables
• Responsible for emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia procedures
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled, inclusive of on-call
• First-time travelers accepted with strong general OR and robotics experience
