Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment, requiring 2+ years of OR experience and MD or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Operating Room unit in an acute care hospital setting
• 40 hours weekly on day/evening variable shifts based on departmental needs
• Primary day-shift coverage with shift options between 7:00 AM and 11:30 PM
• Required to work at least one evening shift per week (8- or 10-hour shift)
• Call requirements include 1-2 twelve-hour weekend call shifts, weekday call as needed, and 1 holiday
• Uses Cerner charting system
• 1:1 patient ratio experience

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD state license or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience required within the last 7 years
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• General OR skills required
• Robotics (Da Vinci Xi) experience preferred
• Ortho/Neuro surgical experience preferred
• Prior charge experience preferred
• Minimum of one completed travel assignment required for consideration
• Does not accept first-time travelers
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
• Must support at least 2 years of experience within the previous 3 years

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, urology, gynecology, plastics, and ENT
• Experience with specimen handling, Universal Protocol time-out procedures, and emergency management protocols expected

• Candidates must reside within a 60-mile radius to qualify for the local rate
• Driver's license must match candidate address for local status determination
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment

• Nurses with previous MedStar employment must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
