Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a strong Spine/Neuro background to join a Level I Trauma Center on day shift.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
• Strong Spine/Neuro surgical background required
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 36 hours per week, options of 2x10s, 2x8s, or 3x12s
• No weekends, call, or holiday coverage required
• Epic charting system used
• Scrubs provided

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required (1.5 years considered for Level I trauma or travel experience)
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Community hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• 1 professional reference required
• Spine/Neuro surgical skills including spinal fusion, laminectomy/discectomy, craniotomy, and related procedures

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, vascular, and neurology
• Work within a large academic Level I Trauma Center with 1,000+ beds
• Participate in emergency response and natural disaster activities as needed
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemptions only
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Previous staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years before returning as a travel RN
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
• First-time travelers not considered due to travel experience requirement
