Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma hospital, requiring an active AK RN license and 2+ years of OR experience.

Details

• Acute hospital setting within the Operating Room unit
• Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated facility
• Day shift schedule, either 3x12-hour (0645-1915) or 4x10-hour (0900-2130) shifts
• Weekend shifts required
• On-call limited to coverage for call-offs only
• May float to like units within the hospital or affiliate facilities as needed
• Epic EMR used for charting
• 1:1 patient ratio experience

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required in hand
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Proof of certifications and two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required for consideration
• Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declinations not accepted)

Additional Information

• Perform OR nursing duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, vascular, gynecologic, orthopedic, neurologic, urologic, ENT, thoracic, and trauma surgery
• Scrub attire provided by facility
• Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year in this assignment before requiring a 6-month break prior to returning
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Minimal RTO accommodated; all time off requests must be submitted in advance for approval
