Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience; 3 years of Operating Room nursing experience preferred
• Recent Operating Room RN experience in a multispecialty surgical environment
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Ability to work four 10-hour daytime shifts and participate in call coverage as needed
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to perioperative patient safety

Operating Room Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care throughout the perioperative experience
• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and patients for a variety of surgical procedures
• Support surgical teams across general surgery, urology, plastics, oncology, gynecology, orthopedics, and endoscopy
• Maintain sterile technique and follow infection prevention and surgical safety standards
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and other members of the healthcare team
• Complete accurate documentation and ensure continuity of care during patient handoffs
• Respond professionally to changing surgical priorities and participate in call coverage as needed
