Travel OR Registered Nurse (Operating Room)

Shift Times: 6:45 AM–7:15 PM or 9:00 AM–9:30 PM; start times may vary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience.
• Active Alaska RN license in hand for auto-offer. Pending licenses may be accepted for screening.
• BLS certification.
• Previous travel experience is not required, but first-time travelers are not accepted.
• EPIC charting experience.
• Ability to provide 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of work within the last 3 years.
• Willingness to work weekends, rotating holidays, and call coverage for call-offs.
• Ability to float to similar units or nearby affiliated hospitals when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification.
• CNOR certification.
• Level I trauma experience.

OR Experience & Clinical Skills

Experience may be needed across a wide range of surgical specialties, including:

• General, orthopedic, spine, and vascular surgery.
• Neurological, gynecological, ENT, and urological procedures.
• Total joint replacement, laparoscopic procedures, hysterectomy, appendectomy, and cholecystectomy.
• Trauma, emergency surgery, and specimen handling.
• Surgical robotics, including Da Vinci Xi and Mazor systems.

• Local Candidates: Not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
• Vaccinations: COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine status is unknown.

Important: Only one location within the Providence Alaska region may be submitted at a time. Candidates must be separated from Providence for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler. Housing options may be limited, so candidates should research accommodations early.
