Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma hospital requiring an active AK RN license in hand.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room unit of an acute care hospital
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, either 3x12 hour or 4x10 hour shifts with varying start times (0645-1915 or 0900-2130)
• Weekend work required
• On-call limited to coverage for call-offs only
• May float to like units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required in hand prior to offer
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Copies of certifications required for consideration
• Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declinations not accepted)

Additional Information

• Located within a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year on assignment before requiring a 6-month break prior to returning to the same facility
• Minimal RTO accommodated; all time off requests must be submitted with the application
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Candidates may only apply to one facility within the regional group (including Seward, Valdez, Saint Elias Specialty Hospital, and Kodiak)
