Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and prior travel assignment experience at a major academic medical center.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room department of an academic medical center
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Handles a wide range of surgical specialties including Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS), Craniotomy, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), Plastic Surgery, Dental Surgery, and combined Neurosurgery/OHNS procedures
- Performs both open and endoscopic surgical cases
- Involved in free flap reconstructive procedures
- Additional experience areas include liver and kidney transplant, neuro, spine, and vascular surgery
- Utilizes the Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Epic EMR experience required
- Floating to other facility locations within a 75+ mile radius may be required based on qualifications
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- BSN required
- AHA BLS certification required
- CNOR and ACLS certifications preferred
- Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required
- Previous travel assignment experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Scrub and circulate skills required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Two references from most recent employer required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical specialties in a high-acuity academic medical center setting
- Travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit
- Any previous employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates worked, units, and manager names for a rehire eligibility check
- RTO must be disclosed at time of submittal and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract and RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
- Pre-start and annual completion of role-specific training modules required
