Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with open heart/cardiovascular surgery skills to support a Level 1 Trauma Center's surgical services team.

Details

• Works in a Level 1 Trauma Center Operating Room within Surgical Services
• Serves all patient ages across specialties including Ortho, Gyne, OB, Plastics, General, Cardiovascular, Neuro, Urology, Breast, and Podiatry
• 22-bed unit with 1:1 patient ratios
• Uses Epic EHR
• Monday through Friday schedule with every other weekend as needed
• Required to accept call: weekdays 3p-7a and weekends 7a-7p Saturday and Sunday
• Floats to main OR as needed
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CPI/HWC certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Proficient to advanced skills in CABG (on and off pump), TAVR, open valve replacement, thoracic lung resections, and robotics required
• Robotic lung experience preferred
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred
• Charge RN experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for open heart, cardiovascular, and thoracic surgical cases including CABG, TAVR, valve replacements, lung resections, and robotic procedures
• Weekend open-heart cases are limited to approximately 6-8 per year and weekday heart call is infrequently utilized
• On-call coverage ensures team availability for urgent open-heart cases
• Reports to the Director of Surgical Services and OR Nurse Manager
• Blue scrubs provided; casual wear not permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
