Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Operating Room with Level I Trauma Center experience and a CT or compact RN license for a rotating shift assignment at a large academic medical center.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a Short Term Acute Care Level I Trauma Center with 1,567 staffed beds
• Rotating schedule including 2x12 and 2x8 shifts covering days, evenings, and nights
• Weekend, holiday, and on-call responsibilities required
• General OR, Hybrid OR, and Trauma settings including gunshot and stab wound cases
• Epic charting system used
• Royal blue scrub color required

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS also required
• Minimum 2-3 years of OR experience required (1.5 years considered for Level I Trauma or travel experience)
• Must be independent with trauma cases, craniotomy, vascular, and endo-vascular procedures
• Circulating experience required; scrub experience highly preferred
• Experience with robotics and orthopedics strongly preferred
• Level I Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and scrub duties for complex surgical cases including trauma, craniotomy, vascular, and endo-vascular procedures
• Participate in emergency response activities as needed, including natural disasters
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Former staff must be separated from employment for at least 2 years before returning as a traveler
• Requests for RTO exceeding 7 days require additional approval
