Job Summary

Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nursing position with rotating shifts and a 40-hour workweek. The role provides post-anesthesia care for pediatric patients and requires experience with electronic medical records, telemetry, drips, and titrations.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • At least 24 months of current Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience.
  • Current or compact/multistate Iowa registered nursing license at submission.
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
  • Current or recent pediatric care experience.
  • Recent experience using the electronic medical record system, reading and measuring telemetry, and managing drips and titrations.
  • Experience in a hospital, medical center, same-day surgery, or outpatient surgery setting.
• Preferred Qualifications: Performance evaluation or professional reference from within the past 24 months.
• Additional Information:
  • Provides care for a broad patient population in a 12-bed unit with 2:1 patient ratios.
  • One to two of three upcoming winter holidays may be required unless the unit is closed.
  • Weekend scheduling is every other weekend, as needed.
  • Formal on-call coverage is not currently required; as-needed coverage may apply.
  • Facility-provided scrubs are available.
  • Earlier start dates may be prioritized.
