Contract | Days | Predominantly 3x12-hour shifts; 8- or 10-hour shifts may be considered based on departmental needs | Start times vary; staff are expected to remain until cases are completed for the day

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Phase 1 and Phase 2 post-anesthesia care across multiple recovery areas, including inpatient PACU, outpatient PACU, Surgery Center, and Anesthesia Clinic
• Recover a broad range of surgical patients including general, neuro, thoracic, interventional (Cath lab, radiology), and simple procedure cases; ICU patients (excluding open hearts) are also recovered in the PACU
• Accurately read and interpret telemetry strips; support ventilator management in coordination with Respiratory Therapy
• Float between inpatient and outpatient PACU sides, Surgery Center, and Anesthesia Clinic as needed
• Participate in a weekly call rotation including 2 overnight call shifts per month (11pm–7am) and 1 twenty-four-hour weekend call shift per month (7am–7am), as well as holiday call coverage on a rotating basis with permanent staff
• Document patient care using the Sunrise EMR system

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license; any licensing history or hits must be disclosed at time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required for inpatient PACU, outpatient PACU, and Surgery Center assignments
• BLS required (minimum) for Anesthesia Clinic assignments
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Flexibility to work varying start times and remain until daily cases are completed
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a PACU, surgical recovery, or perioperative setting
• Familiarity with Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery protocols across a high-volume, multi-specialty environment
• Experience recovering ICU-level patients in a PACU setting
• Previous use of Sunrise EMR or similar electronic medical record systems
