Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Post Anesthesia Care Unit. The registered nurse provides individualized peri-anesthesia care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients from admission through discharge. The role requires expertise in airway management, nursing assessment, medication pharmacology, and peri-anesthesia standards of care.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse licensure in California; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; a minimum of 2 years of Post Anesthesia Care Unit experience; intensive care unit experience; travel nursing experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: High-acuity hospital experience; Cath Lab experience; trauma Level I or Level II experience.
• Schedule: Day shifts, 4 shifts per week at 10 hours per shift, with start times between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.; no weekend shifts.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Provides care for infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients with an approximate nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2. Clinical responsibilities include airway assessment and management, ventilator care, extubation, arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, cardiac rhythm monitoring, cardioversion, procedural sedation monitoring, pain management, post-catheterization care, post-epidural management, and Phase I recovery care. The role also includes medication administration, emergency response, interpretation of laboratory values, isolation precautions, and management of specialized protocols.
