Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN with Phase I PACU and cath lab recovery experience for a teaching hospital assignment in California.

Details

• Work in the PACU unit of a hospital setting
• Phase I PACU recovery with cath lab recovery responsibilities
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours with variable start times between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM, Monday through Friday
• Call availability required
• Flexibility to orient and work across all facility locations
• Floating from pre-op to PACU required
• May be reassigned to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75+ mile radius if qualifications are met

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission
• BSN required
• Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• Phase I PACU experience required
• Inpatient experience required
• Cath lab recovery experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Prior travel assignment experience within the last 12 months required
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide perianesthesia nursing care including cardiac monitoring, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition and management, and IV therapy
• Administer medications including IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, and reversal agents
• Experience with surgical case types including bariatrics, ENT, general, gyn, neuro, ophthalmology, ortho, vascular, and urology preferred
• Knowledge of pain assessment and management, PCA pump management, and RASS required
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• All RTO must be disclosed and approved at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract
• RTO is not permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment start date
