Description: The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is responsible for providing safe delivery of personal care services to participants. The PCA is responsible for supporting the Nutrition, Engagement, and Home Health departments as needed, once provided appropriate training. The role requires effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders to promote the organization's values and mission. The PCA will provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) to participants, including but not limited to toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, assisting with meals, and laundry. Measuring and documenting participants' vital signs is also part of the responsibility. Assistance will be provided to participants with boarding and exiting from transportation vehicles. The PCA will observe activity in the center to ensure participant safety. Meal service assistance will be provided to ensure that participants receive the correct meals and support with feeding when indicated. Safe transfer assistance will be required for participants in and out of their homes and during medical appointments. The PCA will maintain personal care supplies as needed. Collaboration with the Engagement team for participant activities and support for the Home Care team will also be expected. The PCA will clean participant areas in the center between meals and activities. The PCA must remain alert and promptly update the supervisor or any team member of any changes in a participant's condition. Demonstrating flexibility in performing assignments as business needs evolve is essential. Timely completion of all required documentation, trainings, and health screenings is necessary. Maintaining privacy and confidentiality regarding company procedures and information about participants and families is critical. Adherence to policies and participation in required quality improvement activities, staff training, and meetings is expected. Regular communication with supervisors and the team regarding workload and priorities is required. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
