Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) night shift role requiring compact or MD licensure and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit of a hospital setting
• IMC is a 15-bed unit, MedSurg is a 44-bed unit, and Telemetry is a 34-bed unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Patient ratios are 1:4 on IMC and 1:5-6 on MS/Tele
• Weekend and holiday coverage required per hospital needs
• Floating required between IMC and medical units, occasionally covering medicine/IMC level boarders in the ED and ICU
• Clinician reports to the staffing office for float assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license, either MD state license or Compact license
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required within the last 7 years
• Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
• Experience required in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Telemetry, ER Holding, Cardiac Telemetry, and MS/Tele
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the past 3 years

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and intermediate care nursing to medically complex patients
• All employees must have a current flu vaccine
• Scrubs are not provided; required color is Caribbean Blue
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days allowed per 13-week contract
• Candidates with previous MedStar employment must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate
