Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring MO or compact RN license and at least 1 year of specialty experience.

Details

• 29-bed adult stepdown/PCU unit
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• 13-week assignment with 36 or 48-hour contract options available
• Every other weekend requirement
• Mandatory floating to ICU and MS cluster units (ICU floating considers patient acuity)
• Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/stepdown experience required
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, telemetry, IV therapy, and respiratory care
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Ability to perform physical demands including ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
• Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to contagious illnesses

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to adult stepdown/PCU patients requiring cardiac monitoring and telemetry
• Participate in mandatory floating assignments as part of unit staffing needs
• Required to work at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
• Rotating shifts, holiday coverage, and work during inclement weather may be required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted, though those within 50 miles are not eligible and those residing 51-74 miles qualify for a local rate
• Maximum RTO of 10 days per contract, with none permitted during the first week due to orientation
• Travelers may work up to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts (up to 9 months), followed by a mandatory 6-month break before returning in an agency capacity
