Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Heart/Vascular Progressive Care Unit requiring ACLS certification and at least 1 year of recent PCU or related experience.

Details

• 13-week travel assignment on a Heart & Vascular Progressive Care Unit
• 31-bed unit with day shift staffing of 1 charge nurse, 8 staff RNs, 2 PCTs, and 1 secretary
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4
• Shift schedule is 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Performs EKGs, EKG recognition, pacemaker interrogation, arterial sheath removal/monitoring, and cardiac drip maintenance

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current NIH Stroke Certification required for PCU placement
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in PCU or cardiac/vascular specialty required
• Critical care experience with post-cath management preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to patients with cardiac and vascular diseases, including nursing assessments every 12 hours and vital signs every 4 hours unless otherwise ordered
• Unit recognized as a Unit of Distinction, ranking in the top 5% of PCU units nationally in 2017
• Dress code requires royal blue scrubs with only solid-color, no-print undershirts in white, blue, or red, and uniform-approved jackets only
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility and no local candidates will be considered
• One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
