• Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Shift Hours: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours, with 48-hour options available
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,710 - $1,800
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 10/12/2026
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Floating required to a sister ICCU unit as needed
• Charting System: Epic
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Setting: High-acuity intermediate care / stepdown
• Travel Friendly: First-time travelers accepted

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state; pending license may be considered for submission
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in PCU, stepdown, IMC, DOU, or a similar higher-acuity acute care setting
• Strong experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips
• Telemetry nursing experience with the ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience with IV starts, blood product administration, and conscious sedation
• Comfort managing central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines, and isolation precautions
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare environment
• Must be open to floating and working scheduled weekends
• Must be available for required pre-start testing and orientation

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult, geriatric, and adolescent patients with complex medical and surgical needs
• Monitor patients with unstable hemodynamics, respiratory distress, GI bleeds, withdrawal, and post-operative conditions
• Manage telemetry, recognize rhythm changes, and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias
• Titrate and monitor ordered drips, including cardiac and vasoactive infusions, per unit protocols
• Care for patients using non-invasive respiratory support such as BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
• Support patients with chest tubes, tracheostomies, central access devices, and arterial lines
• Collaborate with rapid response teams, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Maintain safe, efficient care in a unit that runs with a 1:3–4 patient ratio
• Follow unit procedures, documentation standards, and scheduling expectations
• Contribute to a positive team culture focused on patient safety, quality outcomes, and clinical excellence
