Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring a CO or compact license, PCU experience, and NIH Stroke certification.

Details

• Work on a 24-bed Progressive Care Unit
• Day shift staffing includes a charge nurse, 4-5 RNs, and 2-3 PCTs; night shift includes a charge nurse, 4-5 RNs, and 2 PCTs
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Cares for post-op recovery patients from surgical and cath lab procedures, including ortho, spine, and joint cases
• Patient population includes elective ortho, spine, and GYN surgeries, elective cath lab procedures (post PCI, post pacemaker, ablation, cardioversion, revascularization), stroke, CIWA, chest pain, renal failure, and respiratory failure
• Uses telemetry monitoring and post-op monitoring equipment
• Set-rate cardiac drips used (non-titrating except heparin)
• Uses Meditech / CPN EMR
• 12-hour day shifts from 7a-7p

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of current hospital PCU experience required
• Cardiac experience preferred
• Prior Meditech experience preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
