Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Cardiac Step-Down unit requiring 2+ years of PCU experience and NIH Stroke Certification.

Details

• Work in a 15-bed Med/Cardiac Step-Down unit within a hospital's Heart Tower
• Care for post-EP lab and post-cath lab cardiac patients
• Patient ratio of 3-4:1 RN
• Uses telemetry monitoring, sheaths, and IV drips (gtts)
• Cerner EMR used
• Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 13-week assignment length
• Requires 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Floating required to all Med Surg and step-down units

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• NIH Stroke Certification required for PCU placement
• Minimum 2+ years of recent RN experience in cardiac step-down or PCU setting
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to cardiac step-down patients recovering from EP lab and cath lab procedures
• Ideal candidates are flexible and calm under pressure
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered
