Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Stepdown unit position requiring stepdown experience and overnight shifts.

Details

• Neuro Stepdown unit within a 30-bed combined Acute Care/Stepdown department (22 Acute Care beds, 8 Stepdown beds)
• Patient ratios of 6:1 on Acute Care and 4:1 on Neuro Stepdown
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating required for experienced nurses after orientation
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Equipment includes vital sign machines, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, various drips, Vapotherm, Bipap, Trachs, and titrating cardiac drips
• Common procedures include lumbar puncture and chest tube placement
• Unit staffed with charge RN, techs, and unit secretary

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or compact) required
• Current BLS certification required for Acute Care staff
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required for Neuro Stepdown staff
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior stepdown unit experience preferred
• Strong nursing skills, time management, and critical thinking abilities required

Additional Information

• Provide bedside shift report, personal connection with patients, and participate in daily huddles
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Great starting unit for nurses aiming to transition into ICU
• Dress code allows black, any shade of blue or grey, with any color scrubs permitted on Fridays
