- Schedule: 3x12-hour rotating shifts
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Estimated Hours Per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
- Orientation: 72 hours
- Patient Ratio: 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
- Float: May be required to float to related units as needed
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU), stepdown, or telemetry experience
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Epic charting experience required
- Telemetry experience required
- ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing education required
- Experience with acute care, ortho trauma, and stepdown patient populations preferred
- Strong skills in patient monitoring, IV starts, medication administration, and bedside nursing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment with rotating day/night shifts
- Two professional references required, including at least one supervisory reference
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for adult and geriatric PCU patients in an acute care hospital setting
- Monitor patients with complex diagnoses including trauma, falls, fractures, SBO, TBI, pneumonia, ileus, and post-surgical conditions
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and support patient education and discharge planning
- Assess changes in patient condition and respond appropriately to clinical needs
- Interpret telemetry rhythms and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team on interventions
- Perform wound care, manage drains and lines, and support respiratory therapies as needed
- Document care accurately in Epic and maintain strong communication with physicians, therapists, and support staff
- Support a safe, efficient, and compassionate care environment for every patient
