Job Requirements

• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and IV starts
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Strong comfort level caring for adult and geriatric cardiac patients
• Ability to work weekends, rotating holidays, and float to equivalent or lower-acuity units as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for adult and geriatric progressive care patients
• Monitor telemetry and identify changes in cardiac rhythm or patient condition
• Care for post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients, including CABG, valve, TAVR, and vascular procedures
• Manage IVs, chest tubes, arterial lines, sheaths, PCA pumps, epidurals, wound vacs, and related equipment as appropriate
• Support patients arriving from the OR, PACU, ED, or direct admission
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips, oxygen therapies, and other step-down interventions
• Document accurately in Epic and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated treatment
• Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity when required
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced cardiac step-down environment
