Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2+ years of experience and current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details

• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:30-07:00)
• 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 schedules available
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required
• Patient ratio of 1:5 in PCU, with float assignments at 1:7
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certification is the only accepted form)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience within the past 2 years
• Trauma Level I facility experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, chest tube management, and oxygen administration
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration not required)
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Must complete Relias EKG testing within 72 hours of signing
• Must complete drug screening 12-14 calendar days prior to start date
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines

Additional Information

• Provide care for cardiac telemetry, PCU/stepdown, and medical-surgical telemetry patients
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays and includes online computer-based learning modules
• Modules are non-billable and average 4-5 hours, completed during orientation
• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility's service area; local candidates not accepted
