Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU Nights position requiring 1 year of experience, telemetry skills, and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) setting within a hospital
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30), 36 hours per week
• Some weekend shifts required
• Floating required within the OSU health system
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide care for PCU/stepdown patients including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and emergency response
• Skills such as BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, ABG interpretation, central/PICC line management, and cardiac drip management are utilized
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and insulin protocols is beneficial
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for traveler positions at this health system
• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprinting promptly after accepting an offer
