Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring cardiac experience and high patient ratios.

Details

• PCU/Telemetry unit caring for cardiac patients including cardiac drips, cardiothoracic surgeries, chest pain, and post cath lab interventions
• High patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required, perm license in-hand (temp licenses not accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac/PCU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with high patient ratios (1:5-1:6) required

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and respond to rapid response/code team activations as needed
• Perform skills such as central/peripheral line care, PICC line management, chest tube care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and wound care
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration preferred)
• Care for patients pre/post cardiac catheterization, angiogram, MI, and cardiac surgery
• Limited RTO during holidays with holiday rotation required
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility
• First-time travelers not considered for this role
