Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certification on night shift.

Details

• Work in the 2N Progressive Care Unit (North) on the 2nd floor of the main hospital building
• 18-bed unit with a 4:1 patient ratio
• Night shift (7p-7a) with occasional AM/PM coverage
• Weekend commitment of 2-3 shifts per 4 weeks
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Welch Allyn vital signs monitors and Alaris IV pumps
• Charting performed in Meditech EMR
• Common procedures include post cath lab care and drip titrations
• EKG and BiPAP equipment used on the unit

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU experience required
• No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• Two professional references required for Missouri placements

Additional Information

• Provide progressive care nursing to post cath lab and telemetry patients requiring close monitoring
• Grey scrubs required; hoodies not permitted
• Unit staffed with a mix of RNs, PCTs, and clinical nurse coordinators across day and night shifts
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered
