Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) float position requiring charge nurse experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• PCU/Step-down float RN role within a short-term acute care hospital
• Patient population may include ER boarded patients, telemetry, and med-surg cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio varies from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on unit acuity
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30
• May include charge nurse responsibilities on select small units, overseeing staffing, bed flow, and coordination
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Required to float between facilities within the state

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• US clinical experience required; Canadian experience alone does not qualify
• Charge nurse experience required
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Serves as part of a flexible float team supporting institutional staffing needs across the hospital
• On small units, the RN may serve as the sole Charge Nurse, supported by LPNs and CNAs
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not apply within 50 miles of the facility
• Minimal to no RTO accepted for consideration
• Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
