Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU/Stepdown position requiring strong cardiac monitoring experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the PCU/Stepdown unit of a hospital setting
  • Patient population requires telemetry and cardiac monitoring with emergency response capability
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Float to MedSurg units as needed
  • Required to work every other weekend

Requirements

  • Active RN license (AL or Compact) required, pending license accepted
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Experience in MS/Tele, Tele, and PCU/Stepdown work settings required
  • Ability to start IVs, manage Heparin protocols, and manage cardiac drips (no titration required)
  • Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care/management
  • Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
  • Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
  • Charting system experience required (any EMR)

Additional Information

  • Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response care within the PCU/Stepdown unit
  • Must work at least one of the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day
  • Must reside within 60 miles for local candidate rate eligibility
  • Requested time off limited to a maximum of 7 days
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
