Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU/Stepdown position requiring cardiac drip titration experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) of a Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required between units, with travelers prioritized to float to Telemetry or Med-Surg floors if overstaffed
• May also float between sister facilities within the state
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown nursing experience required
• Cardiac drip titration and management experience is a hardstop requirement
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac telemetry and stepdown level nursing care, including cardiac and vasoactive drip titration
• Manage respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Perform IV therapy, central and PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Support cardiovascular care including pacemaker management, post cardiac catheterization, and sheath removal care
• Candidates may choose one holiday off between Thanksgiving or Christmas, but not both
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• 48-hour work weeks approved
