Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (ACU/CCU) night shift position requiring at least 2 years of experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Work in the ACU/CCU unit of a 226-bed non-profit community hospital with 20 ACU beds and 11 CCU beds
• Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, DKA, CVA overflow, and post-cath patients with TR bands and femoral approach
• Some surgical patients including vascular, abdominal, and GI cases
• Administers blood products and medications such as diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin
• Patient ratios of 4:1 during the day and 4-5:1 at night
• If floated to ICU, max ratio of 1:3 for vascular and DKA patients
• Uses Epic EMR
• 12-hour night shifts, 1900-0730 or 0700-1930, 36 hours per week
• Option for 48 guaranteed weekly hours
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to PCU level or below throughout the hospital

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU/telemetry experience required
• Must have completed at least one travel assignment prior to consideration
• Skilled in monitoring femoral arterial sheaths, chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, DKA management, BIPAP, High Flow, post-TCAR and femoral endarterectomy care, and arterial lines
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Care for patients with femoral sheaths, but will not be responsible for pulling them
• Provide monitoring and care for post-cath, cardiac, and respiratory patients
• Scrubs of any color accepted as long as professional in appearance
• Candidates must complete a SimpliFi clinical interview and receive unit final approval
