Description:
Evaluate and treat patients through an individualized program of physical therapy.
Treatment includes the assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, and communication related to a patient’s progress.
Provide direct patient care within the assigned area of the hospital.
Evaluate needs and track outcomes or progress.
Consult with others as needed.
Document progress and discharge summaries of patients according to department policy.
Track statistics and maintain treatment records according to department policy.
Work with members of the therapy team to coordinate therapeutic services for individual patients.
Practice established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality improvement programs.
Adhere to safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Work with family members to ensure they can support therapy outside of the hospital as needed.
Design services and procedures to meet the needs of the infant, pediatric, and adolescent patient population.
Perform other duties as requested.
Enhance professional growth and development of self and others through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops.
Keep up to date on current professional literature.
Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, and walking throughout the working day.
Position will require stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying items weighing up to 75 pounds.
