Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Physical Therapist Specialty: Long Term Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 1 year of PT experience, LTC or Rehab experience preferred License: Valid, unrestricted license in therapy discipline Certifications: Valid driver’s license in the state of employment Must-Have: Knowledge of skilled nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care Description: Physical therapists evaluate posture, gait, balance, coordination, and strength to develop a treatment plan. The goal is to help the patient regain mobility and independence. After identifying areas of strength and weakness, a physical therapist may work to improve a patient’s independence with tasks such as getting up from a chair or climbing stairs. Leads, guides, and directs the delivery of physical therapy services in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, standards, and established facility policies and procedures. This is done to provide appropriate care and services to residents.
