Job Description & Requirements
Physical Therapist - Outpatient - (PT)
StartDate: 9/28/2026 Available Shifts: 8 D Pay Rate: $2164.00 - $2230.00

This Physical Therapist position is based in North Trussville, Alabama, a welcoming suburb just northeast of Birmingham. The community offers a friendly, family-oriented atmosphere with excellent schools, well-maintained neighborhoods, and a strong sense of local pride. Trussville’s growing commercial areas feature a variety of locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, and retail options, while nearby parks and greenways offer convenient access to walking trails, outdoor recreation, and sports fields. Residents enjoy a balance of peaceful suburban living and close proximity to Birmingham’s cultural attractions, including museums, performing arts venues, and major sporting events. You will work in a modern outpatient rehabilitation clinic designed to support high-quality, patient-centered care. The environment is collaborative, with clinical support staff and fellow therapists available to assist with scheduling, patient flow, and treatment setup. The clinic emphasizes evidence-based practice, continuing education, and mentorship, making it an excellent opportunity to build your skills and strengthen your resume in outpatient orthopedics and sports physical therapy. Typical responsibilities include performing comprehensive initial evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering ongoing therapeutic interventions focused on restoring function, relieving pain, and improving quality of life. You will treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including post-operative orthopedic cases, overuse injuries, sports-related issues, and chronic pain. Daily work may incorporate therapeutic exercise, manual therapy techniques, neuromuscular re-education, balance and gait training, and education on home exercise programs and injury prevention. The patient caseload is primarily adolescent through geriatric, with opportunities to work with recreational and competitive athletes from the surrounding community. Patient volume is structured to allow for thorough evaluations and consistent follow-up visits, helping you build strong therapeutic relationships and track progress toward individualized goals. You will collaborate closely with referring physicians, advanced practice providers, and other rehabilitation professionals to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes. Clinic operations typically follow daytime and early evening hours on weekdays, with potential for a structured schedule that supports work-life balance. The setting is fast-paced but supportive, with clear expectations and systems in place to help you manage documentation, treatment progressions, and communication with both patients and colleagues. This position offers meaningful, hands-on clinical work in a growing outpatient practice while letting you enjoy the benefits of life in North Trussville.
