Job Title: Physical Therapist

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Acute Care/Inpatient Rehabilitation required
License: Active NC Board of Physical Therapy License
Certifications: Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited School of Physical Therapy
Must-Have:
- Acute Care and Inpatient Rehabilitation experience
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team
Description:
Provides patient care assessment and treatment.
Performs initial evaluations.
Assesses patients' motor and development skills to determine their deficits.
Evaluates patients' physical and mental abilities and analyzes data to determine a realistic rehabilitation plan of care.
Reviews physician referrals and patients' medical records to help determine the required treatment.
Records prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patients' medical records.
Prepares a variety of written materials related to patient care.
Maintains patient records confidentially.
Facilitates patient mobility skills, including the use of safe patient handling equipment.
Manages equipment utilized in treatments.
Adapts and modifies environments, equipment, and materials to promote functional mobility.
Documents and identifies progress and plans for reevaluation.
Evaluates effects of treatment and adjusts treatment to maximize benefits.
Facilitates social adjustment and prevents physical or mental disabilities.
Sets quantifiable and realistic goals and uses advanced judgment in implementing treatment plans.
Educates patients and families in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
Instructs patients, educational personnel, and families in areas of physical functioning and health maintenance.
Trains caregivers and patients on how to provide for the needs of the patient during and after therapy.
Recommends changes in patients' environments consistent with their needs and capabilities.
Models appropriate communication and behavior in the workplace.
Plans, coordinates, and provides training to family, patients, and medical professionals.
Provides clinical educational opportunities for students and team members.
Consults with the rehabilitation team to select activity programs.
Assists peer therapists and other team members with workload as needed.
Maintains clinical competencies and seeks opportunities for professional growth.
Participates in activities to ensure techniques are consistent with best practices.
Builds positive relationships with other healthcare team members and assists in departmental promotional efforts.
