Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: PT Specialty: Physical Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10H Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty, with at least 1 year of acute care hospital experience License: Required Certifications: BLS required, COVID Vaccine required Must-Have: Open to first-time travelers Description: Unit focuses on rehabilitation with services including PT, OT, and Speech. Certifications required include BLS. Candidates must be licensed in the state. Emergency Medical Records system is Cerner. Charge Nurse is a Manager available Monday through Friday. Physical Therapy aides are usually present on shifts. Weekend requirement is to work every third weekend, with potential for every other weekend. Holiday shifts will be incorporated into permanent staff rotation for all modalities. Scrub color for staff includes a provided polo-style shirt or button-down long sleeve shirt in burgundy, with dark solid pants; scrubs are not allowed. The facility is staffed with hospitalists or intensivists available 24/7. Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacy services are provided 24/7. Physical Therapy shifts consist of four 10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. There is no floating required among different units. Orientation is specific to the floor and lasts a total of 8 hours for all modalities. Common diagnoses include cardiac, stroke, orthopedic, ICU, neuro, and medical-surgical patients. There is a low-volume pediatric ward and neonatal ICU; travelers are not required to work in these units or have prior experience. Staffing for Physical Therapy is covered seven days a week. When the manager is unavailable, a team leader is present. The facility has the ability to cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment. Charting system utilized is Cerner. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is not required for this position. Candidates must have the necessary license to practice. Facility trauma level is 2. Care setting is acute. Division of employment is allied health. Shift duration is specified as 10-hour days with every other weekend required. Required certifications include BLS and COVID vaccination.
