The physical therapist implements patient rehabilitation programs to help improve patient mobility, function, and strength. The candidate will evaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs. The candidate will utilize electronic medical records to complete evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries for patient files. Responsibilities include guiding and monitoring patient care in all aspects of treatment and follow-up. Supervision of physical therapy assistants and aides regarding all aspects of patient care is required. Communication with physicians and other healthcare team members is essential for quality patient care. The candidate will ensure accurate patient chart documentation and follow up regarding prescriptions, test results, and authorizations. It is important to keep patients comfortable and answer their questions when necessary. The candidate will work closely with front office staff regarding scheduling and patient follow-up. Independent decision-making regarding patient care is expected. Involvement in business marketing and referral processes may be necessary. The candidate will adhere to HIPAA policies and procedures. Familiarity with billing policies and procedures, including Medicare, work comp, private insurance, and cash pay, is essential. Physical demands include moving and lifting patients, which may involve a combination of sitting, walking, and standing for 8-10 hour shifts. The candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with patient transfers and mobility. This position supervises physical therapy assistants and aides with patient care. The work environment is in an outpatient rehabilitation setting. The candidate is expected to protect patient privacy in accordance with company policies and federal and state law. Compliance with OSHA and other regulations is required. The candidate will be constantly alert for patient safety. No travel is expected for this position.
