Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer physical therapy treatments in accordance with standard physical therapy practice for patients with disabilities, injuries, and diseases to relieve pain, restore motor function, and maintain optimal performance
  • Complete patient evaluations within 24 hours of physician order and discharge forms within 24 hours of discharge; document assessments, progress notes, and care plans in accordance with agency policy and state regulations
  • Plan and coordinate health care services based on physician orders and patient needs, including referrals to other health care team members and community resources
  • Supervise PT Assistants and aides in the administration of patient treatments; orient new physical therapy staff and oversee their orientation process
  • Promptly communicate changes in patient condition and/or orders to appropriate team members; attend monthly case conferences and staff meetings
  • Participate in Performance Improvement Plan activities and maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory and departmental requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in physical therapy or a related field
  • Current California Physical Therapy license or eligibility for registration
  • Current BLS certification
  • Valid California driver's license and evidence of automobile insurance when travel is required
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision and relate professionally with patients, nurses, physicians, and other staff
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Active membership in the APTA
  • Experience in outpatient rehabilitation settings; comfort with occasional acute inpatient coverage as needed
  • Familiarity with physical therapy equipment including modalities, exercise equipment, walking aids, traction devices, and diathermy
