Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
Conduct 60-minute evaluations and treatments, utilizing clinical reasoning to progress patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
Delegate and direct all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring design of functional treatment programs that support effective return to community activities
Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and regulatory requirements, maintaining professional licensure in good standing and completing all state-mandated continuing education requirements
Required Qualifications
Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist licensure in the state of California
Prior outpatient physical therapy experience required — new graduates will not be considered
Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop evidence-based treatment plans
Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and state practice acts
Proficiency in medical record documentation in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience participating in or supervising student clinical education programs
Active involvement in continuing education, professional organizations, or self-directed professional development initiatives
Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality of care initiatives
