Physical Therapist – Inpatient Rehabilitation

Key Responsibilities- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop individualized treatment plans and goals focused on progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to address all barriers to discharge, including equipment trialing and ordering, patient and family training, home exercise program issuance, and coordination of continuing services.
- Manage individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions effectively, ensuring the plan of care is communicated, implemented, and progressed throughout the patient's length of stay.
- Complete all medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including daily notes, goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, discharge documentation, and charge entry in compliance with applicable guidelines and policies.
- Participate in student clinical education programs as assigned, providing appropriate supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations.
- Adhere to discipline-specific state practice acts and regulatory requirements, maintaining licensure in good standing and fulfilling all continuing education obligations.
Required Qualifications- Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of Florida.
- Demonstrated competency in inpatient rehabilitation patient care and caseload management.
- Ability to complete thorough clinical documentation in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines.
- Commitment to patient and employee safety standards, including safe patient handling and infection control practices.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes weekdays and a minimum of two weekend shifts per month.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
- Experience supervising or mentoring Physical Therapy students in a clinical environment.
- Active involvement in professional organizations or continuing education beyond minimum state requirements.
