Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Travel Physical Therapist (PT) to evaluate and treat patients recovering from injury, illness, surgery, or physical disabilities. The PT will provide individualized rehabilitation services to improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence while adapting to different clinical environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and functional assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
  • Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, balance training, and mobility interventions.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety, and injury prevention.
  • Recommend and train patients on appropriate assistive devices and adaptive equipment.
  • Maintain accurate treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adapt quickly to new facilities, workflows, and patient populations.
  • Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and facility policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Master's, or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state of practice.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Physical Therapy experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of rehabilitation, orthopedic, neurological, and mobility principles.
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous travel healthcare experience preferred.
  • Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, SNF, home health, or long-term care settings.
  • Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, post-surgical, geriatric, or medically complex patients.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
