Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) – Travel Contract

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM), with every 4th weekend expected | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy assistant services within an inpatient acute rehabilitation unit
• Implement treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist to support patient recovery and functional goals
• Document patient progress and treatment sessions accurately using facility EMR systems (Cerner; transitioning to Epic)
• May be required to float to med/surg and acute care units as needed
• Adhere to facility dress code (light gray scrubs) and all departmental policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Rhode Island (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a PTA
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Ability to begin assignment on or around September 28, 2026

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Inpatient rehabilitation experience, including IRF, acute care, or skilled nursing facility settings
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR; experience with or willingness to transition to Epic
• Experience floating between units in a hospital environment
