Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Rochester, Minnesota.

Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN position located in Rochester, Minnesota. This role involves coordinating comprehensive nursing care, patient/family education, and transitions of care for critically ill pediatric patients across various specialties. The PICU serves a diverse patient population, including medical, surgical, trauma, orthopedic, cardiac, neurological, and pulmonary cases, with specialized units for organ transplants and complex multi-organ issues. The RN will support professional practice, demonstrate leadership, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Location: Rochester, MN
  • Shift: Rotating schedule, 12 hours per shift, with shifts from 07:00-19:30 and 19:00-07:30, every 3rd weekend required
  • Schedule: 36 hours per week with rotating day/night shifts
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Education: Student or Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program
    • Certifications/Licensure: Current RN license by applicable state requirements, Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); BLS must be maintained, PALS required by manager, certification not expiring within 3 months of start date
    • Experience: At least 2 years of recent acute nursing experience, including level 1 trauma and intubated patient care; 6 months of travel experience required, 1 year preferred; two years PICU RN experience required, solid organ transplant experience strongly preferred
    • Skills: Cardiac monitoring/telemetry and ability to read strips; ECG exam during orientation with passing required
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Certifications: Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Pediatric Critical Care Nurse (TCTCN) or related certifications are strongly preferred
    • Experience in solid organ transplant is highly desirable
  • Additional Information:
    • Floating required as needed
    • Must demonstrate proficiency in cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation
    • Travel experience of 6 months or more required, with a minimum of 1 year preferred
    • Orientation includes ECG exam, which must be passed to continue assignment
