Join a leading acute-care hospital as a PICU Registered Nurse in Baltimore, MD. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced RNs to work in a dynamic Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) environment. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are passionate about providing exceptional care to pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents in the PICU.
• Manage patients with complex medical conditions, including respiratory distress/failure, DKA, seizures, and sepsis.
• Administer medications, including anti-seizure medications and IV vasopressors, and perform pediatric dosage calculations.
• Utilize advanced equipment such as ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula.
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias, manage central lines and PICC lines, and perform ICP monitoring.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to NICU and Pediatrics as required by facility needs.

Qualifications:

• 1 year of PICU experience is required.
• BCLS/BLS and PALS certifications are required.
• Basic EKG Exam certification is required.
• Maryland or compact RN license required upon submission.
• Experience with ventilated pediatric patients and managing acute airways is essential.
• Strong dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience.
• Experience with chest tube management and ABG interpretation is required.

Additional Information:

• The PICU consists of 6 beds and serves a diverse patient population.
• Orientation is approximately 40 hours, including virtual, clinical, and on-unit training.
• Travelers will be scheduled for 5 weekends within each 6-week schedule.
• No on-call requirement indicated.
• Time off restrictions apply; auto-approval for 14 days or less of RTO.
