Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Pre-Op. The position supports preoperative and phase-two recovery care for adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients. Responsibilities include preoperative assessment and education, medication reconciliation, airway and circulation assessment, procedural preparation, pain management, discharge instruction, and postoperative follow-up.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts with variable start times between 5:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.; 8-hour shifts; 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Current California Registered Nurse licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
  • At least 2 years of experience
  • Required electronic charting system experience
  • Experience caring for adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatric patients
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience.
• Additional Information:
  • No on-call or weekend shifts.
  • Patient ratio of approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients.
  • Clinical responsibilities include preoperative assessment, preoperative education, procedural consent, medication administration, conscious sedation, airway management, pain assessment and management, post-anesthesia care, discharge instructions, and follow-up phone calls.
  • Experience with pediatric patient management, ophthalmology, orthopedics, podiatry, otolaryngology, spinal procedures, nerve blocks, and monitored anesthesia care is relevant to the role.
  • Orientation includes 16 hours.
