Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a 240-bed community hospital, requiring active MO or compact licensure and post-cath patient care experience.

Details

  • 13-week contract at a 240-bed community hospital with a 16-bed ICU
  • Med/Surg Telemetry unit caring for PCU/MI and post-cath patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:45–07:15
  • 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period (combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
  • On-unit telemetry monitoring and titration of cardiac drips performed
  • Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
  • No on-call requirements
  • Charting via Epic
  • Free parking available
  • Navy scrubs required

Requirements

  • Active MO or compact RN license required; both Kansas and Missouri licenses must be in hand prior to consideration due to floating requirements
  • Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
  • Must have at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no gap in employment greater than 90 days
  • Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and cardiac drip titration required
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • 2 professional references required: at least one must be at the supervisor level or above, the second may be a charge RN, and both must be from someone who has worked with the candidate within the past year
  • SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provides nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients, including post-cath and PCU/MI populations
  • Charge RN assignments may be required as needed per unit
  • Holiday shift coverage required as needed
  • RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract
  • Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Travel partners are not accepted for this position
  • Non-billable onboarding modules averaging 10–15 hours are required and must be completed prior to the start date
  • Block scheduling is not available for this position
